MT-CONNECT 2018:

Joint trade fair appearance of Creative Instruments and Solectrix as EVOMET

EVOMET: Creative Instruments and Solectrix have already been working hand in hand for a while to develop a new high-end real-time cycler for molecular diagnostics. With the joint appearance at MT-CONNECT as EVOMET, this cooperation is now made visible to the public.

EVOMET stands for Evolution of Medical Technologies and is not only the name of the interdisciplinary cooperation, but the program. Because the stated goal of EVOMET is the development of advanced medical technology. While Creative Instruments is specialized in medical and molecular biology diagnostics, Solectrix offers high-quality embedded system expertise. The combination of both core competencies makes EVOMET an efficient innovator in medical technology.

One first example: When developing the new OEM device for carrying out PCR analyzes, EVOMET has succeeded in achieving a homogeneity in the automatic heating and cooling phase that has been improved by a factor of 10 compared with existing systems and in controlling and optimizing all heating and cooling elements individually. The trade fair visitors could gain a first impression of this achievement by taking a look at the exhibited thermal block and temperature control unit.

However, the high-end real-time cycler is just the first step. EVOMET is already planning the next developments.

3D live system: The demonstrator of the new low-latency 3D live system, which includes a 3D camera system from Solectrix and a glasses-free 3D monitor from SeeFront, also turned out to be a real crowd-puller, just as it had recently done at embedded world. The innovation of the system is that, in contrast to conventional systems, it does not need a separate processing unit and provides the viewer with the exact three-dimensional image without aids such as the usual 3D glasses. Thus, the ultra-compact high-end image evaluation system is ideally suited for use in cutting-edge technologies in the medical sector, in robotics or in demanding quality assurance.
