New proFRAME accessory: PoC Fault Injection Unit
The recently launched proFRAME accessory PoC Fault Injection Unit (Power over Coax) extends the testability of ECUs with connected cameras. Connected as an independent device between the ECU and camera, it can be used to change the PoC current of the ECU without affecting the connected camera. This makes it possible to realize a number of important test scenarios for targeted ECU validation.
For example, it is possible to check how the ECU reacts to a possible overload situation if the camera spontaneously draws more power from the ECU, or if additional consumers such as a lens heater or LEDs for driver monitoring systems need to be supplied. Up to what current level does the ECU work reliably? Short-circuit situations on the coaxial line (short to ground, short to battery) can also be realized.
The PoC Fault Injection Unit is connected to a PC via USB-C for operation. The various test scenarios, such as current or short-circuit duration, are configured using the familiar proFRAME graphical user interface SXPFpyGUI. Up to four channels can be tested simultaneously with one unit.
