Higher chance of survival through faster detection of pathogens in the blood
Infectious diseases have many causes. In order to identify the relevant pathogens, laboratory blood tests are required, which currently take up to 24 hours.
To develop a diagnostic method and device that can be used to reduce the detection time of pathogens in the blood and their resistance to antibiotics from 24 hours to 4–6 hours. The treating physician can thus initiate effective narrow-band antibiotic therapy in cases of suspected sepsis much earlier and drastically increase the patient’s chances of survival.
Conception of a real-time capable control and evaluation algorithm as well as the merging of the sub-projects in the demonstrator.
