At the Bayern Innovativ joint boothproFRAME in Japan – Our New Distribution Partner asmec
Solectrix went through the process with Bayern Innovativ durchlaufen.
Lars Helbig and Stefan Schütz founded solectrix GmbH in 2005. Shortly thereafter, Jürgen Steinert completed the management team of the young company, which quickly made a name for itself as an innovative and reliable developer of electronic high-end solutions.
Innovative ideas quickly required additional human resources to be implemented. The growing team soon became too numerous for our start-up office. With seven employees, we finally moved to our new business premises in Allersberger Straße in Nuremberg in early 2006.
Right from the start, the training of our young professionals was close to our hearts. Just two years after the founding of solectrix GmbH, our efforts to be recognized by the IHK as a training company were crowned with success. Since then, we have turned young people’s enthusiasm for technology into in-depth knowledge and skills on which they can build a successful professional future in the world of embedded systems.
An “existing customer” from the medical technology field found its way to Solectrix and started the first medical technology development projects. The development of our imaging division began with a customer from the broadcast sector (ARRI).
At the end of 2007, the Solectrix team comprised 12 employees, mainly in the areas of software and hardware development, layout, IT and marketing, including the first system IT specialist to be trained in embedded systems.
The year 2008 is characterized by expansion. Solectrix’s success more than doubled the number of employees in the course of the year. New hires in the field of hardware, software and FPGA development made the team grow to 25 employees and 7 freelancers.
In December 2008, solectrix systems GmbH was founded as a separate production and sales company. Subsequently we were able to offer our customers an even wider range of services. Small series productions were now carried out directly by Solectrix Systems, saving our customers time and money.
The imaging division started developing an HD camera. The industrial sector saw the first project developed by Solectrix and produced by Solectrix Systems.
Our number of employees was approaching 40 people. We were expanding our office space in Allersberger Straße as well as our production and storage area so that, in addition to development, there was also enough space for the growing material warehouse and the production of our electronic high-end solutions.
The starting signal for the development of a digital high-end cinema camera with real-time data compression and storage was given. The imaging team grew to around 20 employees.
After extensive renovation work, in March 2010 we moved Solectrix and Solectrix Systems to the new offices on the AEG site at Fürther Str. 244b in Nuremberg. “Auf AEG” we offered our employees and customers around 1,200 m² with a spacious reception and waiting area, an ESD-compliant laboratory with the latest measuring devices, microscopes and analyzers, two meeting rooms, working spaces with lots of glass and the latest equipment for about 50 employees, an 80 m² bistro and event area, and a production area with about 100 m² where small series up to 1,000 pieces could be manufactured, supervised and checked by Solectrix Systems.
We celebrated the move “Auf AEG” and our 5-year company anniversary in May with our entire team and over 150 guests.
The same year, Anadicon from Freising and Solectrix Systems successfully cooperated under the brand name sinaCAM. The first result was the “sinaCAM Next Generation 2D/3D HD Color Camera”, which was launched in spring 2011. We focused on the further development of the cinema camera and support for its market launch, as well as on strengthening our growing array of industrial and medical technology customers. In addition, we carried out the first project on the subject of a test system for camera-based driver assistance systems (hardware-in-the-loop, HiL).
Autonomous driving and driver assistance systems brought new projects for the HiL team. The cinema camera with Solectrix electronics inside became the most successful digital camera on the market.
In February 2014 we went online with the imaging www.imaging.sx and in June the FPGA microsite www.fpga.sx followed.
We also started working with MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG and launched the SX proFRAME, our original modular data and video grabber system for camera-based driver assistance systems.
For our customers, we developed a user-friendly new responsive website that summarized who we were and what we did: www.solectrix.de
The declared common goal of our cooperation with MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG: The development of a digital mirror replacement system that is ready for series production. With broad support from the automotive environment, we expanded our product range around the SX proFRAME.
Our team counted 76 employees and had long been offering the entire range of services in the area of embedded electronics, from conception to hardware, software and FPGA development to prototype and small series production.
We had developed high-end electronic solutions on behalf of our customers for years. At the end of 2017, for the first time we offered the quintessence of these development processes in the Solutions catalog, the new product catalog by Solectrix. A real milestone on our way from a pure development service provider to a solution provider.
Another milestone of the year was the development and production of the complete device electronics and software of an IVD device.
Future topics such as the rapid progress in driver assistance systems or in modern medical and analysis technology created the framework conditions for positive company development. The creative solutions of our constantly growing team facilitated the success. The resulting increased space requirements prompted the management in 2018 to decide on the construction of an own company building in the Fürth industrial park Hardhöhe West.
In March 2019 the time had come: Solectrix and Solectrix Systems moved from “Auf AEG” to the company’s own headquarters in Dieter-Streng-Str. 4 in Fürth. In our own small but well-equipped laboratory and production rooms and in the modern offices of our design house for embedded systems we are now realizing our customers’ visions of the future with over 100 employees by developing innovative electronic systems that are continuously safer, faster and smarter.
mdc medical device certification GmbH has granted us the ISO 13485 certification on May 20, 2021!
Since 2021, a small but very dynamic SX team has been based in the Chaos Coworking Space at Riverboat. Our focus at the Leipzig location is primarily on software development in the automotive sector, and we are passionate about developing innovative solutions and technologies. The inspiring environment also offers good opportunities for collaboration and networking with other creative minds in the Chaos Coworking Space. This is where ideas are born, projects are driven forward and innovations are created.
We are growing and very proud that we have been operating a Solectrix branch office for our Medical division in Mannheim since 2023, consisting of three offices and a versatile laboratory corner. Our focus in this office is on qualification/quality and verification (Q&V), regulatory affairs and consulting services. We offer a wide range of services to ensure the safety and quality of medical devices.
